Well, have now been back in Kabul for two weeks, but snowed in and waiting for the mountain paths to clear.
In the meantime, I’ve been watching dodgy Chinese-made DVD’s of films that haven’t even been released in the UK yet, and wondering whether I’ll end up in Guantamo Bay just for watching “Lambo 4″….
Afghanistan, after all, is the forgotten frontline of the War Against Piracy.

Dear Sean,
I just viewed your documentary Mission Accomplised. I must say you make this dangerous reporting look like a walk in park. You Have you created any other documentaries to date? thanks Tony

Hi Sean.
My name is Zan Azlee and I’m a documentary filmmaker and journalist from Malaysia. I’ve seen some of your films and I really like them. Although it is obvious you definitely have mad journalistic skills, I think the way you portray your films give it a very non-pretentious, non-newsy feel to it (if you know what I mean!). I’ve been visiting your site for sometime hoping for an update. And I’m glad you’ve started posting on your blog! Good luck!
Regards,
Zan Azlee

Lambo 4… Have you seen Lambo 3? Rambo in Afghanistan allied with the Mujahideen fighting the Russians. Read what you want into this..
To be honest you’re a little like Rambo yourself without bouffant- I’ve seen Mission Accomplished, the man with the grenade the insurgents the crazy Yanks- just luck they didn’t push the too far.
Like your stuff- hows the book?

Sean,
What an incredible relief that you are back. And what a terrible ordeal. You’ll need a
lot of time and peace to recover and be with your family - but when and if you need us - you know we’re here for you.
Love from Tina and everyone at The Rory Peck Trust xx

Welcome back Sean
I had no idea you were being held under such terrible circumstances, though you’re lack of recent postings suggested something was up. Toby Y said he saw you last night. I’ve been emailing T to commiserate on his recent lack of sleep due to the latest addition to his family. Your ordeal puts such trifles into true perspective.
Take care now
Steve E.

Dear Sean
Im the Danish journalist that you met in Belfast and whom you wrote with in December when I was preparing myself for a trip to Helmand. Believe me when I say that I know what you have been through. Like you I was kidnapped by a militant bandit group in Helmand six months ago. Fortunately I got away only a week afterwards. If you need to talk with anyone whom can understand and relate to your experience you can contact me. I am happy on behalf of your family. I know they have been through hell.
Best wishes
Nagieb
